I went to see my lovely friend at her studio yeste

I went to see my lovely friend at her studio yesterday and managed to create this sketch using leather paint and gold leaf 🍁. Being in a different surrounding and away from the mundane bits of life is so refreshing!

I've been wanting to explore the negative space around objects on paper - what I call the invisible energy that can attract people or creatures to us and the energy that also repels us from each other. I captured this photo a few years ago and loved the little exchange and greeting between the woman and cat. 🐈‍⬛

A day trip to Manchester, a flying visit! Managed

A day trip to Manchester, a flying visit! Managed to quickly see the Manchester Art Gallery, saw a great drummer and dancing dude (I don't think they were a performing act 🤪). Quickly rushed back to the station - back in time to catch the train back to London. I might be mad but I actually love trains (me and Francis Bourgeois have something in common) and I managed to get some admin work done on the way up. All in all a good Saturday 🌞

'When the Memories become Hazy' 2024

Been working away on my screen prints from earlier this year. Each one I have applied different mediums. This one is a mixture of oil pastel, gold leaf, watercolour and fiber paste, which is great for building up texture. I mixed this with a nude and silver paint and applied on top of the screen-print with a palette knife.

It has felt quite destructive to paint in the detail and then take away in areas but this is all a part of the process.
